For day three of #ThankfullyReading Weekend, Jenn asked us to write about a book that we’re thankful for this year. I can think of a lot of books that I’m thankful I read this year, but I want to tweak this a little bit and talk about what I’m truly thankful for when it comes to my 2019 reading year: reading with my friend sj.
Sj is one of my best friends and she has great taste in books. I can’t tell you how many books she’s recommended for me that I loved. We used to read books together all the time, but life gets in the way, and we’ve had less time to read together over the past few years. Between school and work for me, and different life shit for her, it just hasn’t been happening as often. But this year, we read a ton of books together again. It has been wonderful. We recently joke-read The Chemist by Stephenie Meyer together just because we knew it was going to be terrible and we knew we’d be able to laugh about it together. Joke-reading or seriously reading, I love reading stuff with sj and talking about it with her. I wish we lived closer together so that we could actually sit in the same room to talk about books and stuff, but I am so very thankful to have her in my life.
So, this year, I am thankful for every book that I’ve read with sj, and I’m thankful that I have a friend like sj that gets me so well and knows just what I’ll enjoy reading (or not, as the case may be). She’s pretty rad, and I can’t imagine my life without her in it.
